Jon graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in 1975. He then attended Ohio State University studying architecture. Jon realized that his true passion was to be on job sites, with tools, so he followed in his father’s footsteps and entered the carpenter’s apprenticeship program, earning his Journeyman Carpenter Classification.

Jon’s father, Robert Traut, was a project superintendant for the Albert M. Higley Company in Cleveland. Ohio. That is where Jon began his apprenticeship training. Jon started with Williams Brothers Builders, Inc. in 1978. Within two years he was promoted to foreman, and in 1985 was promoted again to super-intendant and project manager.

Currently, Jon is responsible for all the day to day field operations of the firm including estimating, human resources, project expeditor, quality control, and overseeing all projects under construction. Jon is also certified through the State Architects Office to use the accounting software OAKS-CI.
