Company History

Williams Brothers Builders, Inc. was founded in 1959 by Robert Williams.  Robert’s early construction experience as a carpenter was taught to him by his father Ernest Williams.  Ernest was a home builder and renown craftsman during the first half of the 20th century.

Williams Brothers Builders, Inc. began as a residential contracting firm out of Robert’s home.  During the mid 1960’s we made the switch to commercial and industrial type construction.

The business continued to grow and a new office and warehouse facility was built at our current location in 1976.

The business philosophy that Robert formulated in the Company’s early days is still incorporated today.  This philosophy has helped to make us one of the areas leading and most respected general contractors.  Williams Brothers Builder’s major base of operations is in Lorain County and the adjacent counties of Ohio.

Over the years Williams Brothers Builders, Inc. has successfully completed numerous projects for privately owned companies as well as various publicly funded projects for cities, counties, and the State of Ohio.

From minor office renovations and tenant unit build outs, to new large scale office buildings and manufacturing facilities, Williams Brothers Builders, Inc. has experience in a wide range of construction services.

In 1999, Robert Williams retired and Barton Williams, Robert’s son, was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer.

The business philosophy that Robert Williams formulated has roots back to Ernest Williams. Ernest implemented his philosophy during the first half of the 20th century and Robert built on it during the last half of the 20th century, while Barton refined it and extended it into the 21st century.

The philosophy is based on three traits:

Honesty, if a member of the Williams Brothers team gives you his or her word or handshake to a client, architect, or subcontractor that word will be honored.

Integrity, each member of the Williams Brothers team will perform his or her duty with the highest degree of character and respect in transactions involving clients, architects, or subcontractors.

Trust, Williams Brothers strives to place the long-term goals of the client foremost. We believe that when a client’s long-term goals are achieved, a lasting relationship is created between builder and client. We feel that if we are able to earn a clients’ trust, through actions and deeds, the client will have a builder from that point forward.
